Arcade Fire followed up Friday’s private viewing with a performance at the Granada Theatre in Sherbrooke, Quebec last night, the band’s first “official” and “public” gig in three years. And much like the Friday performance, Win Butler’s crew used the opportunity to showcase several song from the band’s forthcoming third LP The Suburbs.
Cameras were strictly prohibited at last night’s concert, but a few audible videos have already surfaced. Below, you’ll find clips for two new songs, “Rococo” and “Ready to Start”. According to the Montreal Gazette, the former was a “a spooky standout, the spiteful lyrics “Let’s go downtown and watch the modern kids,” offset by the almost yodelling chorus,” while the latter was a “new-wavey dance ditty, seemingly about shedding the past and jumping into the now.”
Arcade Fire wrapped up the 16-song set with an acoustic rendition of “Wake Up”. We have video of that below as well. And yes, I’ll stop talking now so you can watch.

Update: Here are two other new tracks, the Régine Chassagne-led “Empty Room” and “We Used To Wait”.

Meanwhile, Arcade Fire will reportedly follow up the Montreal warm-up shows, the second of which takes place later tonight, by doing more of the same in Toronto this weekend. An official announcement is still forthcoming, but the band looks set to be playing “secret” shows in Toronto, sometime this week, from June 10 to 12, reports CHARTattack.
