Watch: Arctic Monkeys’ Matt Helders joins Diddy for BBC1 gig

File this under cute bromance: Over the past year, the Artctic Monkeys have slowly become BFF with none other that Mr. Sean Combs. Last April, P. Diddy even declared himself as part of the band and tried to coax them to join Bad Boy with a feel of his Grammy.

“Now, I’m not going to be singing. I’m not going to be playing any instruments, but I am part of the crew,” Diddy said at his Miami house party, “if y’all fuck with the Arctic Monkeys then y’all got to fuck with me.”

While that’s a really cute sentiment, this thing is apparently getting pretty serious.

PrefixMag reports that the Monkeys’ Matt Helders played drums for Diddy’s band – Dirty Money – on the BBC’s Friday Night with Jonathan Ross for a performance of his new single, “Hello, Good Morning”. Check out the end result of their performance below.

Also worth noting is what happened after the performance. The Mirror reports that Mr. Combs dropped £21,000 – that’s almost $35,000, kids – at London’s Whisky Mist with the likes of Kanye West, M.I.A., and Jay-Z.  He was spotted sharing 4 ft. cocktails and shouting “This is how you party, ladies!” before hitting the ones and twos for a brief DJ set. Oh, to be young…
