With Further having been pushed back a couple weeks, we are happy to announce a couple of exclusive preview videos to help you kill some time while you wait. The Chemical Brothers‘ seventh album is out June 22nd, and if you buy the iTunes Pass version of the album, you get a bunch of additional material, including a 20 minute “Making Of” featurette that goes behind the scenes revealing how the groundbreaking visuals for this album were made.
The following two clips are taken from this featurette. The first revolves around “K+D+B”, which will feature some gorgeous footage of starling flocks over the city of Brighton, U.K. The second is less revealing, but still very intriguing — there will be some computer animation involved in the video for “Escape Velocity”, the banger of a track that came out a couple months ago. Unfortunately, the closest we get to seeing the final product is a guy sitting down wearing those little white balls they use for video game motion capture. But they’re teasers for a reason.
These are just two of the eight videos that will be made — each track will have a corresponding music video by Adam Smith (who directed the video for “Galvanize”) and Marcus Lyall. The duo has already created a visual accompaniment for “Swoon”. Check the teasers out below, along with the full tour schedule (go see them, for God’s sake), and album track list.
The iTunes Pass, which is currently available for purchase, consists of multiple segments that will be released at different stages over the next month. In addition of the “Making Of” featurette, which will be made available starting June 15th, fans who purchase the iTunes Pass also receive the following:
— An instant download featuring an uninterrupted 51-minute audio/visual experience of the full album.
— On the album’s official street date of June 22, fans will receive the iTunes LP, featuring the entire 8-track album in audio form including an additional exclusive audio track “Don’t Think” as well as the album’s 8 videos that can be viewed individually. This special iTunes LP format also includes an art image gallery as well as an extensive photo gallery of how the visuals were shot and created.
— Finally, on June 29th, fans will receive an exclusive track titled “Pourquoi”.
