Here’s a fun fact: Over the last three years, we have posted more news about Tupac’s forthcoming studio album — remember, he died in 1996 — than we have about The Rapture’s. It looks like that’s all about to change, however, as the band debuted a brand new number at a semi-secret in Brooklyn this past Wednesday, reports Stereogum. No word on the song’s title or if it will be included on the yet to be announced followup 2006’s Pieces of the People We Love that the band’s supposedly working on, but we do know, via the YouTube video below, that it sure sounds like The Rapture we’ve come to known since they debuted over a decade ago. In other words, the song’s ferocious and danceable.
There’s a strong chance the band will also play the song tomorrow when they take the stage in between Interpol, M.I.A., Sleigh Bells, and Neon Indian among others at The Creators Project in New York City.
