Watch: The Strokes perform at Isle of Wight

Kanye West wasn’t the only high-profile musical act to make a return at this weekend’s Isle of Wight Music Festival. Earlier tonight, The Strokes delivered their first official, non-Venison performance since 2006 at the UK festival and, because the festival was gracious enough to broadcast the performance, we now have some high-quality clips to share.

Below, you can find clips of the band performing both “New York City Cops” and “Modern Age”. And yes, it’s not just you. The 2010 Strokes sound just as good as the 2006 Strokes, aka they don’t sound anything like a band that hasn’t performed together in four years. Pretty impressive, huh?

Also posted below is an interview with guitarist Nick Valensi. He doesn’t say much other than the completely unsurpurising revelation that The Strokes enjoy Vampire Weekend.

For more indie rock goodness, The Strokes are set to perform at the Scotland based RockNess festival tomorrow and a bunch of other places over the course of the rest of the summer.
