Details are scant on Battles’ followup to 2007’s acclaimed Mirrored (which we named the 67th best album of the 2000s), but shows this fall may offer a first listen to the new material. Today, the band announced plans for two upcoming tour dates, providing fans with their first chance to dance/twitch to jittery math-rock beats in over a year.

On October 30th, Battles headline ATP’s Release the Bats festival at the London Forum, performing alongside Beak>, The Field (with whom the Battles drummer recently formed another band), and Tweak Bird. Tickets for that show are here. Four days earlier, on October 26th, they play NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge. Buy tickets to that one here.

Battles’ label, Warp Records, reports the band is currently in the studio recording their untitled sophomore effort, but gave no indication as to when it may arrive.

    Battles 2010 Tour Dates:
10/26 – New York, NY @ Le Poisson Rouge
    10/30 – London, UK @ ATP’s Release the Bats
