Cee-Lo Green announces Cee-Lo Green Is The Lady Killer, covers Band of Horses

Fresh off the Twilight webcast, Cee-Lo Green, a Goodie Mob member and one half of wacky duo Gnarls Barkley, is off doing his own thing once more with a solo album. And if you worried that he may have gone soft with a track for a movie about sparkly vampires, think again. While his upcoming solo album, tentatively titled Cee-Lo Green Is The Lady Killer, has a title alone already indicative enough of his sustained musical insanity, he once more shows (via Gigwise) his unique sensibilities with a cover of Band Of Horses’ “No One’s Gonna Love You”.

If you’ve got any inkling about the original, go ahead and forget those; Cee-Lo’s version is truly his own, a uniquely ambient and electro-tinged song that hones his interstellar R&B vocals before popping off into a full-out explosion of robotic songcrafting that is irrevocably dominated by Green’s booming voice. If this is the start of things to come for the album, it just won’t be the ladies that Cee-Lo will have swooning.

Enjoy both the original “No One’s Gonna Love You” and Cee-Lo’s semi-NSFW version below. Also, head to Cee-Lo’s official site to download another new track “Georgia” (in exchange for a few personal details).

Cee-Lo Green Is The Lady Killer is due out this fall, so stay tuned for more details as they’re announced.
