“Ode To Clarissa” is a mostly unheard Queens of the Stone Age track packaged on the forthcoming deluxe reissue of the band’s iconic 2000 record Rated R. As previously reported, the reissue will include a second disc consisting of six b-sides and a recording of their Reading Festival set in 2000.
According to Spin, “Ode to Clarissa” appeared as the 12th track on the Japanese pressing of Rated R; on a limited-edition vinyl version of the album; and as the b-side on the U.K. single for “The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret”. However, prior to this reissue, the track had never been released in the United States.
A live version of the song, recorded at the Reading Festival, is also included on the reissue.
Compliments of our friends at Some Kind of Awesome, you can stream the track below. The reissue of Rated R arrives this Tuesday, August 3rd, via Interscope/UMe.
One day earlier, Queens of the Stone Age are set to support the reissue’s release with a performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
