Because 16 brand new songs can only take you so far, Win Butler and friends have provided another reason — or eight reasons — why you should buy a copy — or eight copies — of their forthcoming third studio album The Suburbs.
As Bumbershine reports, Arcade Fire‘s latest studio album will feature eight different covers and, as we discovered recently, via JB HI-FI via ArcadeFireTube, each of the said eight different covers appears to reflect a different perspective of a suburban neighbor. Some have cars facing various houses, each which feature a different but well kempt bush. Two others have the car pointed toward a wooden fence and yes, it is a bit more exciting than it actually sounds. But don’t take my word for it, take a look for yourself:
According to JB Hi-Fi, each cover will be picked at random when ordered and we assume that will also be the case for other music outlets. Of course, if you want to avoid buying excess copies in a quest to pick you fav, you could always just head to your local record store… I know, god forbid.
The Suburbs is due for release on August 3rd via Merge. Here’s what the band will be doing before and after that:
