CoS Presents: Mogwai’s Burning virtual screening

We”d like to think we have a pretty good relationship with our audience. And while you, our loyal readers, showed your copious amounts of love recently, we feel like returning the affection and give you something of a world premiere: The official debut of the film Burning from none other than everyone’s favorite Scottish post-rock band, Mogwai. Think of this as the online version of “No, you hang up.”

In case you’re unaware, Burning is the concert movie recorded during their three-night residency at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg in April 2009. The live film (which we got to see a little earlier than you) was directed by Vincent Moon and Nathanael Le Scouarnac and will be officially released on August 24th as a DVD with an-11 track live album entitled Special Moves. (In case you want some of the extra goodies that come with a deluxe or even premium package, you can pre-order here.)

Now for the good part. We here at CoS are honored to be included in this special online screening of Burning. It’s live, it’s exclusive, and it consists of three glorious components:

First, Moon and Mogwai frontman Stuart Braithwaite will introduce the film. Then, the film will be shown in its entirety — with absolutely no commerical interruptions. Be sure to stick around around upon it’s conclusion, as Moon and Braithwaite will return for Q&A session. Below, you’ll find a box to submit your question.

The fun begins at 12:00 PM PST/3:00 PM EST/8:00 PM GMT.

Now, go ahead and even try to top that kind of attention.
