Manic Street Preachers detail guest heavy new album

Welsh alt-rock outfit Manic Street Preachers have let some details drop about their upcoming album, Postcards From A Young Man, including a tracklisting and a few special guest collaborations.

The LP, produced by Dave Enringa and described by the band themselves as “one last shot at mass communication,” is set to be released on September 20th. Before it hits stores, however, you’ll be able to take a listen to their single “(It’s Not War) – Just The End of Love” a week earlier. Judging by the title, it may not be a feel-good preview, but we’ll see when we actually hear it.

We’d imagine that most notable to you all of the guest stars would be Duff McKagan, former bassist of Guns N’ Roses. The rocker can’t seem to put enough on his plate as it is, between Velvet Revolver, Loaded, and his recent jump into Jane’s Addiction. Let’s hope that he brings that same musical enthusiasm to this particular album, where he’ll be playing the bass on the song “A Billion Balconies Facing The Sun”.”

Also lending a hand to the record will be ex-Velvet Underground member John Cale, who will be playing piano on the track “Auto-Intoxication” and Ian McCulloch of Echo & the Bunnymen who will show off his vocal chops in “The Future Has Been Here 4 Ever”.
