As previously reported, Eagles of Death Metal bassist Brian O’Connor was recently diagnosed with cancer and due to his lack of medical insurance, a few notable friends — Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, and John Paul Jones — are coming to his aid with a series of benefit concert.
With Homme’s main outfit, Queens of the Stone Age, now on the comeback trail, the California based frontman has announced another benefit concert, this one to feature the aforementioned Queens of the Stone Age — in what will be their first US date since 2008 — and O’Connor’s own brethren, Eagles of Death Metal. The Dead Weather/Queen of the Stone Ages Dean Fertita is temporarily filling in for O’Connor on bass.
The concert is set to take place on August 12th at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Ticket information has not yet been release, but we’ll update you when it is. Update: Tickets go on sale Friday, July 16th at 10 AM PST via Ticketmaster.com.
Currently, this is Queens of the Stone Age’s only upcoming US tour date, though they do have a few scheduled for across the pond. Find a complete listing of their current tour itinerary below.
