The Drums’ The Drums and Surfer Blood‘s Astro Coast both currently sit a top our list of the best debuts of 2010. So you can expect nothing but good music when the two up-and-coming indie outfits hit the road together for a North American tour this fall.
The co-headlining tour launches on September 10th in Philadelphia and will then see the bands head south, even hitting Surfer Blood’s home state of Florida for two dates. After a brief split, The Drums and Surfer Blood will again join forces for a series of west coast dates in late September/early October. They’ll then wrap it all up by heading through the mid-west and finally back east, culminating with an October 22nd in New York City Philadelphia. Update: An updated tour routing has been issued. Pre-sale tickets will be available starting July 28th via a newly launched website solely dedicated to the tour. Both bands have a bunch of other dates scheduled for the months ahead; The Drums will be touring Europe from now until early December, while Surfer Blood have a number of upcoming festival appearances including at Seattle’s Bumbershoot and San Francisco’s Treasure Island.
