Having returned from a two year, isolated cottage retreat in Northern Quebec, Canadian indie rockers The Acorn released their third full-length album, No Ghost, digitally on June 1st. For those of you who don’t have a computer (though that brings up the question of how you’re reading this article), the record hits stores on September 7th through Bella Union.
Produced by Jarrett Bartlett, a good amount of the album was created during late night improvisations. The band drew from the sounds of natural surrounding elements, utilizing feedback and exploring percussion to give it a unique blend of the city and the countryside.
Soon after the physical release, The Acorn is set to promote No Ghost in a stateside tour from coast to coast. The U.S. tour will start in Cambridge, MA on September 21st, wrapping up in Seattle, WA on October 17th. Before the tour proper starts, however, you can catch them at a series of Canadian music festivals.
