As wonderful as The Avett Brothers are on recordings, nothing quite beats them live. But unless you’re going to, say, this year’s Hullabalou Festival, or hitting up a live show this summer, you won’t get to experience their energetic fury. That is, unless, you’re smart enough to grab their new live CD and DVD this October. We hope you are.
According to Paste Magazine, Live, Volume 3 was recorded on August 8th, 2009 at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, NC and will feature material from each of their LPs. The DVD will also feature bonus material, including interviews with the band. Plus, both the CD and the DVD will be mixed by Ryan Hewitt, the engineer/mixer of I and Love and You. If that’s not enough pedigree to get this album, then you must clearly have something against live rock DVDs.
Live, Volume 3 hits stores October 5th. Before you pick that up or head to your nearest venue, make sure to watch their new video for “Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise” on NPR.com now.
