When jam vets The String Cheese Incident decided to bring their reunion to the road this summer, fans outside of Colorado, Oregon, and Virginia seemed shit out of luck. Not anymore. Now Joe Boston or Jill L.A. can vicariously experience the shows with some patchouli, glowsticks, and a subscription to iClips.net, as the band will be streaming all their 2010 shows live through the concert video website. The catch? There’s a price tag attached.
SCI’s three mini-fests at Red Rocks (Colorado), Hornings Hideout (Oregon), or Hulaween (Virginia) will all be available in a complicated variety of packages. Ready? Okay. A single show costs $7.99. $15 buys you all three Red Rocks shows; $20 buys you three Hornings Hideout (the extra $5 covers streaming of other acts on the bill); $10 covers both Halloween shows. Shell out $45 and get em all. $60 buys all shows and one show poster while $100 buys all shows and signed posters from each venue.
iClips videos are generally free, so it will be interesting to see if this takes off. One imagines many of the hardcore fans to whom this would appeal will already be at the shows, but perhaps theyll sign on to relive the experience afterward. After all, the videos will remain on the site for twelve months after each concert.
Sign up for one show or several at iClips.net. Then dont bathe for a few days, pick up some supplies, and tune in! It’s almost sort-of just like being there!
