Ages ago (i.e. October of last year), Scion held the Scion Garage Fest and showcased a bunch of — you guessed it — garage rock bands. One such band, which doesn’t exactly exist anymore, is Costa Mesa, California’s Japanese Motors, a band made up of surf enthusiasts and one professional surfer in Alex Knost.
But, as they insist in the following interview brought to you by Scion A/V, Japanese Motors were definitely not a surf rock band, despite winning an OC Music Award for surf rock.
