Much like Lollapalooza, the fun of Austin City Limits lasts even after security guards shoo you away from the festival grounds. In fact, one could even argue that ACL’s 2010 after shows are more appealing — at least temperature wise — than the actual festival itself.
After all, several of the festivals biggest hitters are scheduled for late night sets: Spoon and Pat Green play Thursday, Deadmau5, The Black Keys (w/ Foals), and the Black Lips have gigs on Friday, and Sonic Youth, Monsters of Folk, and Gayngs (w/ Bear in Heaven) will close out Saturday. Plus, legendary DJ Paul Oakenfold — who isn’t even on the ACL bill — will play an after show with Die Antwoord on Thursday night. Oh, and The Strokes — as in the same Strokes who will be headlining Stubbs night — will kick things off on Wednesday night with a special pre-festival show at Stubbs. Damn, indeed.
