Check Out: Built To Spill tracks get 80s make-over

What do you get if you were to fire the band members of Built To Spill and replace them with a Roland 808? The answer — or punch line — is The Electronic Anthology Project. As a co-venture between BTS members Doug Martsch and Brett Nelson, this electronic new-wave duo has just released their first self-titled EP consisting of seven new versions of Built to Spill songs “in the vein of the ’80s 12-inch remix” (via TwentyFourBit).

The EP’s tracklist consists of anagrams of the original songs such as “What If I Were Dull” (“I Would Hurt A Fly”), and “Age I Felt” (“Get A Life”). You can check out “Eels” (“Else”) below and stream the other two tracks at The Electric Anthology Project’s MySpace page.

Whether you’ll get a chance to hear some of this New Order business on tour, I guess you’ll just have to see as Built To Spill opens for Kings Of Leon all throughout the summer. Check out the full tour itinerary here.
