On 1993’s now-classic track “Shine”, Collective Soul posed the question: “Show me where to look, tell me what will I find?” And now 17 years later, the answer has been revealed. Head over to Collective Soul’s message board, and you can find vague details on at least one upcoming album.
According to the group’s recent post, they’ve stayed busy this summer designing a new recording studio, re-recording hits, and writing new songs for an upcoming studio album. There has been no indication why the five-piece may be reworking old tracks (they already released a Greatest Hits in ’01), but the band says we’ll be hearing them soon.
No information has been released about the forthcoming album, except to expect a release sometime this winter. In the meantime, catch Collective Soul at any of their upcoming tour dates, which include stops at several major state fairs. Yeah, that was a joke, but so is performing across from Blue Ribbon cattle. The collective of dates follows, and you can pick up tickets here.
