Well, it went from good to bad to ugly. The Toronto based Imagine Concert, once billed as a reincarnation of Woodstock that would feature acts on the Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, and Lady Gaga level, has apparently been postponed.

As Torontoist points out, the festival’s Facebook page now reads: “The festival has been postponed until next year.”

What’s more, Larry “Rhino” Reinhardt, who had been scheduled to play the festival, wrote on his Facebook wall, “Hell people, the bad news is the show in Canada has been canceled, by those lyies [sic?] we all were told. Me and the Posse are sorry for this, but blame those in the north, We will Rise!!!!”

He continued: “Me and the posse were just getting on when the Canada people pulled the plug, the bastards, they lost every bands deposit, and no air tickets what a joke to play with our lives.”

Imagine Concert organizers have yet to issue an official statement regarding the festival’s status. Update: According to the festival’s publicist (via National Post), the event has indeed been postponed.

Set to take place from September 4-5, the Imagine Concert promised to feature Colby O’Donis, Chubby Checker, Ellis Hall (of Tower of Power), Rockabilly Legends, and Jet Black Stare among others. Admission was to be free with the donation of two non-perishable food items for the Toronto Daily Bread Food Bank.

We’ll update you as more information becomes available.
