You know that schmaltzy intro to Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia that kicks in right after the lovable ne’re-do-well boys (and girl) set up some doomed caper that may or may not involve pedophiles, Nazi memorabilia, cadavers, or Danny DiVito? Turns out, the composer of that intro wrote a whole ton of music like that, and we will get a chance to hear more of it it when the the show will drop its first official soundtrack September 1st (via Sentamentalist Magazine). The press release purportedly claims the soundtrack will include hits that are “classier than a can of wine”, though it doesn’t state what actual songs will be on it. But it will most definitely include the theme song composed by Heinz Kiessling who was “one of the most successful German Easy Listening composers of the post-war period.” This warrants the obvious question, “Then who is the most successful German Easy Listening composer of the post-war period?”
I’ll save you the hassle. I think it’s this guy.
The digital soundtrack is out September 1st via Extreme Music and Fox/FX and will be available for purchase on iTunes.
