Kings of Leon reschedule shitty St. Louis show

If you were a little pissed off and thought that the Kings of Leon didn’t give a crap about their fans, then think again. They’ve confirmed a release date for their new album, and just announced a show to make up for a July 23rd performance that was cut short due to defecating pigeons.

Promoter LiveNation issued refunds, but fans who held on to their tickets will be admitted to the September 25th make-up show free of charge. To make it even better, fans without tickets can come to the show for just $10. The show will feature the band’s full stage show and Mark Campana, president of LiveNation Midwest, told STLToday.com that, “Fans are getting as good, if not better, a production than what they would have gotten before.”

For those of you with short-term memory loss, the band was forced to walk off the stage at St. Louis’ Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on July 23rd after just three songs because pigeons had covered the stage in excrement. There have been rumors that the band used the birds as an excuse for their own drunkenness, but Oliver Crowe – who was on bass for opening act, The Stills – recently told Spinner.com that he felt “something like little droplets of water” spray his face before he looked down at the black onstage carpet which had “13 or 14 brown spots on it.”

Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill added that after the band walked off, they knew they had to come back. “We knew (leaving) would be horrible, and we knew people were not going to be happy,” he said, “We were just trying to figure out the best way and the easiest way to get back and make it better.”

Check out this video of the ill-fated performance below (go ahead, jump to the 1:12 mark) and score tickets to one of the bands upcoming shows via Ticketmaster.com. No word on openers for the make-up date, but tickets for the show go on sale on August 30th and are available here.
