After a relatively busy summer, self-proclaimed “prog-pop” outfit Minus the Bear have decided to keep beating the streets in support of their latest album, OMNI. They’re currently wrapping up their stint on the European festival circuit and are taking most of September off, but the band gets back at it when they open with a hometown show at Seattle’s Crocodile Café on September 30th.
Unfortunately, east coast fans will have to wait because the 14-date U.S. tour doesn’t venture any further west of the Rocky Mountains until the end of October when Minus the Bear will play a Halloween set at New Orleans’ Voodoo Experience. Openers haven’t been officially announced, but some venue websites cite Cursive’s Tim Kasher as an opening act. Also warming up the crowd for several dates will be Filter US Recordings artist AM.
After the stateside tour wraps, the band will cross the pond and join Jimmy Eat World for a 14-date European tour, which stops in Holland, Belgium, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Tickets for some of the California stops go on sale this Saturday, but tickets for select dates are now available through venue websites or Ticketmaster.com.
