Right now is a good time to be Nicki Minaj. Despite not having a proper release to her name, shes already scooped up a BET award for Best New Artist, and Irv Gotti the mastermind responsible for guiding the careers of Ja Rule and Ashanti is already telling the world that the queen of the Young Money crew is just as talented as Lauryn Hill. On Tuesday, she celebrated racking up one million Twitter followers by having a chat with fans and revealed that after four mixtapes and a Young Money collaboration album, her debut LP finally has a name.
While itll actually drop on a Tuesday, the VMA nominated rapper (whose real name is Onika Maraj) is calling the set Pink Friday. The much-hyped album is supposed to hit shelves and digital retailers on November 23rd (via Young Money), which is three days before the all-out, post-Thanksgiving shopping spree known as Black Friday. And despite the plethora of already leaked tracks, the woman Lil Wayne called his “future wife” is promising that Pink Friday is full of unheard tracks. You know, people have been leaking [stuff], taking vocals and putting it on whack-ass beats, [but] none of that [stuff] is off my album, she said during the Ustream chat, when something comes out that is off my album, Ill let you know.
You can be sure that well let you know what it really sounds like, but until then enjoy the video that launched Minaj into the mainstream below.
