Sufjan Stevens announces fall tour

Sufjan Stevens‘ has had a rather, well, interesting past couple years or so. From his time away from the spotlight to his rather enigmatic BQE project, and right into the redaction of his 50-state album project have made him more of a myth than ever. But there’s no better way to get back into the swing of things than with a new album that’s supposed to be in the works. And what better way to lead into a new album than a healthy jaunt across North America? Get excited.

More updates to follow as to what will be happening on this tour (full band? Multimedia presentations? More cheerleaders?), but Stevens will touch on quite a few locations across the U.S.,  including New York City, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, LA, and Atlanta; all healthy driving distances from anywhere you happen to be.

Pre-sale tickets will be available starting August 10th at 1pm EST. That’s tomorrow. Take your lunch break early, hop online, and start furiously clicking on the “Get Tickets” button. The Asthmatic Kitty website includes this caveat : “To avoid scalping, there is a 4 person ticket limit, and the first 20 rows of seats are WILL CALL ONLY.”
