My introduction to identical twins Tegan and Sara Quin was a bit unexpected –Tiesto’s late-night set during Bonnaroo 2008. As the Canadian sisters accompanied the acclaimed DJ on stage for ”Back In Your Head”, I knew that I had to discover more. And now the sisters have the made the process remarkably simple for all of us latecomers.
On August 31st, Tegan and Sara will release The Official Vinyl Collection Box Set on Warner Bros. Records. Comprised of all five Vapor(/Sire) recordings — 2000s This Business of Art, 2002s If It Was You, 2004s So Jealous, 2007s The Con, and 2009s Sainthood — the package encompasses all but the duo’s debut independent release. That said, the box set is finalized nicely with Home Recordings, nine exclusive demo tracks dating back to 2004. You can already pre-order your box set here, and the sisters will return the favor with a very limited edition signed poster.
In other news, Tegan and Sara are also currently touring around the country for The Honda Civic Tour featuring Paramore. To commemorate the tour, Honda released a six-track Summer Tour EP that includes Tegan and Sara’s Sheets and Back In Your Head. The EP is already available at iTunes, or head to the nearest mall on August 10th when it drops at all Hot Topics. The complete tour listing follows, and tickets are available here.
