The Autumn Defense readies fourth album, Once Around

The Autumn Defense have announced details for their fourth album, Once Around, due for release on November 2nd via Yep Roc Records. Not bad going for the co-founder and continuing Wilco bassist John Stirratt, along with his multi-instrumentalist and Wilco bandmate Pat Sansone. The latest album picks up from where 2007’s The Autumn Defense left off and finds the pair in their 10th year of extracurricular activities outside of Wilco.

According to the band’s management, the new album is “filled with late ’70s-tinged AM gold” and finds the duo with a fresh set of songwriting goals and avenues of artistic expression. Fans will get a chance to check this out for themselves when the band airs the new material at the Wilco-curated Solid Sound Festival in North Adams, MA, on August 15th. The festival runs from August 13th to August 15th.

According to their currently threadbare official website, the pair are also planning an east coast tour in November, followed by a west coast tour some time in December. There are no firm dates for these yet, but rest assured we’ll bring you the news once shows are confirmed.
