Heres something to add to your massive Trey Anastasio and Phish collection. The 45-year-old jam band king has announced that hell release a live disc TAB at the TAB on September 19th. If you dont already know, the first TAB stands for Trey Anastasio Band and the second TAB refers to the venue the storied Tabernacle building in Atlanta, Ga.
Even though its not a Phish record, the 10-song disc does come from a raucous February 27 show where Anastasios other band played over 30 songs (including the Phish classic, Show of Life) over the course of two sets and an encore. Among the songs making the final tracklisting are Wanda, Valentine, and Drifting” as well as a cover of Led Zepplins Black Dog, which finds one his background singers belting out the classic tune as the crowd moans along.
The release comes amidst Phish’s final summer tour dates. Theres no word on what the band will be doing next, but there are rumors of a fall leg. Plus, Anastasio has mentioned that hes been working on new material.
Pre-orders for TAB at the TAB are going on now, and anyone who purchases the album digitally gets two bonus tracks Birdwatcher and Cayman Review.
