U2 and Jay-Z to share the bill on Australian and New Zealand dates

It’s always hard getting jump started on a Monday morning, but here’s a little something to supplement that cup of coffee on your desk – especially if you live Down Under. U2 has already given us a sneak peek of some new songs (find another new one below), and even revealed that they have enough new material for four new albums, but now FasterLouder.au has just reported that the Irishmen will now be dragging along none other than Jay-Z on the Australian leg of their current tour. The string of five dates run from November 25th to December 18th and includes stops in Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth.

The Wire Mag’s Ben O’ Shea broke the news by posting a Twitter message which explains that Hova will be playing for at least an hour and will be backed by a nine piece band, and while the news is pretty amazing, it won’t be the first time the band has worked with a big name from hip hop. They brought Kanye West on tour with them for several dates of their Vertigo tour, and even worked with Jay-Z and Rihanna for a Haiti benefit song after the tragic earthquake in January.

Tickets go on sale on Sepetember 3rd (with a presale for U2 fan club members) and start at $40 (AUD). Billboard.biz also reports that roughly 45 percent of all tickets will be priced under $100 (AUD). Find confirmed tour dates below.

As previously mentioned, below you can also find a footage of U2 performing a new song “Every Breaking Wave”. According to Slicing Up Eyeballs, the song was one of the last ones dropped from No Line on the Horizon, but is said to be including on the companion album, Songs of Ascent.
