We’ve seen Broken Social Scene from just about every perspective, ranging from epic three hour concerts to their very own feature film. As you’ll soon see below, you can also add 3D to the list. Toy Story 3, say what?
Directed by MAKAPOON (Adam Makarenko & Alan Poon) and produced by Geoff McLean (Vision Entertainment), the newly unveiled video for Forgiveness Rock Record‘s “Forced To Love” is said to employ “cutting edge 3D rendering.”
“It’s an experimental 3D scanning technology that detects the displacement of a grid pattern of any object in front of it,” Poon explains. “The data is then used to rebuild the object in three dimensions. Each band member’s performance was scanned using this technique and manipulated in the computer to create the effect you see in the final video.” Better yet, no 3D glasses are required.
For those who are more a fan of the traditional, you can see Broken Social Scene, in non-3D form, at a venue near you this fall. Video and tour dates can be found below.
