Other than that crazy artistic “Power” video by Kanye West, there’s only one other video that has got us just as excited to finally see. Actually, it got us plain hot and bothered in anticipation. Eminem‘s “Love The Way You Lie”, featuring Rihanna, debuted tonight on MTV. And, just as we had hoped and prayed, it lived up to its naughty, naughty reputation. Also, it was a powerful portrayal of an abusive relationship. So there’s that too.
Featuring Dominic Monaghan (Lost) and actress Megan Fox (Transformers), the video, which was directed by Joseph Kahn (who is the brains behind videos for Muse and Gwen Stefani), features the two main actors in a pretty heavy tussle (we swear Monaghan almost hits Fox toward the beginning of the video) before breaking down into a pretty hot and heavy scene. Interspersed with performance shots of Rihanna and Em, the whole thing has a gritty kind of shine to it. And despite a cliched ending (spoiler: it involves fire) and cliched shots of Mr. Mathers in a field, it was surely worth the wait. Surely.
