While we still have a few weeks away until the September 7th release of The Thermals new album Personal Life, we did get a taste of the first single, “I Don’t Believe You”, back in June. And while we likened it to “chugging a Red Bull”, the video (via Pitchfork) may be even more delicious and fulfilling. Because it involves harassing your idols, that’s why.
From their secure location in some shed in the middle of nowhere, the band broadcast the song throughout the home of Sleater-Kinney guitarist/vocalist/fellow labelmate Carrie Brownstein. In an attempt to get the song out of her life, Brownstein destroys valuable belongings and even a wall or two. While she succeeds in getting the band to shut up, we won’t spoil the rest of the tasty ending. Nor will we spoil the other wonderful cameo the band sets their sights on. Oh, Thermals….
