Anytime you’re up against Arcade Fire, it’s a daunting challenge. Just ask Soundgarden.
But The Walkmen had a couple things going in their favor when it came to last night’s appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Like Win Butler’s crew, they were also supporting a much anticipated new studio album and, like Win Butler’s crew, they have the ability to make any song sound enormous live. So while The Walkmen’s performance of Lisbon‘s “Angela Surf City” may not have started a Twitter trend, I did get to head nod (for the second time) from under the covers.
