The countdown has arrived. With September now upon us, Bad Religion‘s 15th album, The Dissent of Man, is less than one month away. The punk outfit have seen a ton of change since their inception 31 years ago, but they continue to drive home their messages of political upheaval and social responsibility on their newest release.
The album’s newest single “The Resist Stance” (which first appeared as a live track on 30 Years Live this May) is a not-too-subtle call for political revolution: “Seeds of rebellion lay outside your front door / If you nourish them and water them they’ll grow into a healthy ‘What For?'”. The track can be heard below.
After releasing the tracklist about a month ago, and plotting out a fall tour, Bad Religion will continue to build momentum for the September 28th release with a 28-day album countdown. Beginning September 2nd over at The Bad Religion Page forum, each day will be dedicated to a different releases until the album drops. Fans are encouraged to discuss artwork, influential lyrics, the impact that it had on their life, or anything else related to the release. And after creating an account, fans can rank each album’s tracks, helping the band gain insight into which songs are the most popular ones amongst the fans. I bet that information has a way of popping up during the upcoming tour.
