No, nothing is shocking anymore. Just as Christmas tchotchkes are already populating shopping malls, so too are we already preparing for the 2011 Festival season. I’m all for thinking about next summer, actually. Anything to distract me from the promise of a cold winter spent huddling around space-heaters. Sure I may not miss the sweltering heat now, but come mid January I’m going to be praying for sun stroke.

Anyway, Glastonbury Music Festival organizers announced that tickets for the 2011 festival will go on sale 9:00AM BST on October 3rd (via NME). Keeping with previous years’ practices, buyers have the option of paying full price, or a £50 deposit for your ticket. For fans who choose the deposit option, Britons won’t be charged again until April 3rd, but international purchases will have between February 25 and March 3 to settle up with the festival.

Tickets for the festival will be eventually be available for purchase at the Glastonbury website, where you will need to register first. Check out the details on registration right over here.

Glastonbury 2011 will be held June 22-26 in Pilton, UK. Current rumors include U2, Coldplay, Eminem, Madonna, and Radiohead.
