Iron & Wine announce fall tour dates ahead of new album

Three years. Has it really been that long? It doesn’t seem like three years (next week exactly) since Iron & Wine made a major commercial leap without really betraying anything about the understated and intimate tunes of singer/songwriter Sam Beam. But The Shepherd’s Dog did sound bigger, more ambitious, and more festival-ready than previous work, which all worked in the recording project’s favor. But I didn’t think it was three years ago.

Whether I believe it or not, apparently three years is the time it takes to follow-up The Shepherd’s Dog. Plus a little more time to gear-up and get ready It looks like 2011 could be another heavy year of Iron & Wine, as they are expected to release Kiss Each Other Clean (a counterpoint to LCD Soundsystem’s “Dance Yourself Clean”?) in the “early” part of the year. Okay, I’ll be the one to say it: Coachella!

Below are some previously announced tour dates, both full band and solo Sam Beam, as well as a recently posted Florida-heavy mini-tour from the band’s website. Yes, they are even playing in Tallahassee. We’ll have the album details just as soon as Beam spills the beans… heh.
