Metallica has certainly been rocking hardcore over the past two years. Ever since the release of its latest album, Death Magnetic, the band has been touring worldwide in support of the record (and, in between legs, in support of Guitar Hero: Metallica). As the 185-show “World Magnetic Tour” is finally drawing to a close this November, the band is planning to celebrate with the release of a new 8-song live EP.
Universal Music was, as the band says on its official website, “so damn excited” that Metallica was coming back to Australia and New Zealand for the end of the tour, they suggested that the band release a live album of songs played over the years in those areas. And as such, we’ll be getting the limited-edition EP appropriately titled Six Feet Down Under on September 20th.
The EP will be available at Metallica.com and in Trans-Tasman record stores, which to us non-oceanic people who have to look up that term on Wikipedia, seems to be record stores within Australia and New Zealand. The rest of us will have to get it online.
You can check out the track listing below to see what songs, places, and years you’ll be hearing from.
