I like the trend I am seeing here. Yesterday, we reported on Lauryn Hill’s progress and impending return to the popular music arena. Good news. Now, her Rock The Bells tour mate Snoop Dogg has joined her in qualifying his appearance at the four-date rap festival. But, his album has a few more details. A few more totally awesome details, mind you.
Titled Doggystyle 2: The Doggumentary, Snoop looks to harken back to a gentler, more innocent time, when his dog puns were still in their infancy, when Lauryn Hill was a Fugee and when it was generally disregarded that he was tried for murder. One thing not nostalgic about this is the virtual video in which the news was announced.
Check out the video, which also features producer Swizz Beatz, who Snoop explains “gave me some gangsta shit, some crib shit, some R&B shit, some Hip Hop shit, hard shit, some mean shit.” Um, this is going to be awesome. Let’s hope this album announcement epidemic spreads to Wu Tang and Tribe.
