Tame Impala get wild in America this fall

Sometimes bands overestimate their popularity, booking large halls only to see tickets remaining at the night of the show and lots of empty space when they play. When Tame Impala first played Los Angeles in June, the opposite happened. After their original single show at the so-small-I’ve-never-been-there venue, the Silverlake Lounge, sold out in a flash, they added an early show for the same date. Then again, they added themselves onto a free show that was already happening the day before at the larger Echo, but as an opener. And the room filled-up for the free show (we were there!) on a Monday night, and then promptly thinned out afterwards for the originally scheduled headliner.

This time around, Tame Impala look to not repeat mistakes, moving up in venue size and number of stops considerably. They are tacking this onto an extensive European tour that will pretty much keep the band working through the end of the year. The sophisticated psych jams have already slayed critics and hopefully, after this tour, they will leave an equally impressed trail of fans throughout America.

Joining them will be Stardeath and White Dwarves, who apparently go well with druggy bands, having previously toured with The Flaming Lips. And if you haven’t picked up InnerSpeaker yet, I’d familiarize yourself if you want to know what everyone keeps talking about at the end of the year.
