The Bug gets Infected for new EP

Kevin Martin has been working in the London electronic scene for almost 20 years and has almost as many projects under his belt. The Bug, his dub-step focused endeavor, has been around since 1997, exploring dub, grime, and dancehall music–often waving the standard of those styles proudly. His previous LP, 2008’s London Zoo, was compared by the Guardian UK to “classic state-of-the-world addresses as Specials, Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On and Black Flag’s Damaged.” Convinced to give it another go, haters?

Better yet, wait two months and you’ll hear the new EP from The Bug, Infected (via Clash). The double 12″ features cameos from Hitomi and Roots Manuva and an Autechre remix of fan favorite “Skeng”. You can listen to some minute-long samples of the album over at The Bug’s MySpace page. Also, turning up the bass on your laptop speakers doesn’t make dub-step sound any better, so grab some headphones or some nice cabinets.

Infected is out November 15th via Ninja Tune.

    Infected Tracklist:
    1. Catch A Fire (feat. Hitomi)
    2. Tune In (feat. Roots Manuva)
    3. Skeng (Autchre Remix)
    4. Poison Dart (Scratcha DVA Remix)
