Watch: Weezer – “Memories”

Remember when MTV used to air shows like Jackass instead of “real life” drama? Of course you do. Who can forget the good ol’ days of watching Bam Margera beat the shit out of his father Phil and now convicted sex offender Vincent? Or Johnny Knoxville being kicked out of stores for being indecent and, um, faux geriatric? You have to remember Steve-O and the countless times he’s been tattooed, maimed, tied up and gagged, and nearly eaten by a [insert wild, dangerous animal]! Right?

Weezer does.

That’s why they’re sharing the band’s “Memories” with the Jackass crew. In anticipation of what will undoubtedly be the 3D event of the year (sorry Pixar), Knoxville and his cronies invited Rivers Cuomo and his band pals to party in their backyard, all in celebration of this fall’s Jackass 3-D. While the video doesn’t show anything we haven’t seen countless times before (e.g. skateboarding, partly nude, obese men, and Wee Man being punched), that’s sort of the point. (Think about the song’s theme for a second.) It’s charming, though. Everyone’s having fun and Cuomo seems overjoyed, singing alongside the emptied pool and rocking away amidst the countless speedy skaters – all behind that coy smile of his. He even lets others have a shot behind the band’s gear. The best part, however, is the little black kid dancing by himself at 2:40. Look at him go!

If you didn’t know already, Hurley hits stores next week – September 14th (via Epitaph).
