If you’ve ever seen the documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil, then you know the sad tale of Anvil the band. Don’t cry for these Canucks, though; the film gave their career a shot in the arm, and they’ve been steadily playing and gaining prominence in the interim. Things are going so well, in fact, that they’ve even returned to the studio to record a new album, the follow-up to 2007’s This Is Thirteen. Who wants to bet those sessions involve a screaming match or two?
According to Classic Rock magazine and the band’s official site, the legends of metal are working with producer Bob Marlette on Juggernaut of Justice. No details have surfaced yet, but they’re shooting for a spring 2011 release date. As an interesting side note, the group just happens to be recording at 606 Studios, which is owned by Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl. Hmm, do we smell a future collaboration?
As always, stay tuned for more album news as it’s announced.
