2010 had been a pretty good year for LA’s Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, up until recently anyway. The trio helped raise relief funds for Hait, released their fifth EP, and headlined a successful international tour. But come August 19th, bassist/vocalist Robert Been’s father unexpectedly died backstage after the band’s performance at the Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium. And when the band returned stateside to Houston, Texas to begin their role as tour opener for Stone Temple Pilots, Scott Weiland exploded onstage before a single show could even be completed.
With Weiland hopefully recovering somewhere, BRMC are stepping out of STP’s shadow and expanding their US headlining performances. Instead of hitting the stage early October 3rd and 4th, BRMC will now be headlining the previously scheduled Nashville and Atlanta performances. The trio will then play Asheville, North Carolina on the 5th, instead of the Raleigh engagement. But don’t worry Raleigh, STP and BRMC will make it your way October 19th as part of STP’s rescheduled dates.
Between October 8th and 27th BRMC will continue as opener for STP, with a few re-scheduled headlining performances in Little Rock and Dallas. The newly released tour follows, to help clear things up. According to BRMC’s website, original tickets for their headlining shows will be honored for the new dates. If you already had tickets for the STP headlining shows in Atlanta and Nashville, check in with the venues for all you options. Tickets are still available over at Ticketmaster, for both headlining shows and opening appearances.
