Dashboard Confessional have spent the better part of the last year touring in support of their sixth studio album, Alter the Ending. Now, after a short breather, the Florida emo band’s frontman and founding member, Chris Carrabba, is set to take the stage by himself for a month worth of tour dates. The reason? It’s the 10th anniversary of the band’s very first album, The Swiss Army Romance.
For those who don’t know, Carrabba began Dashboard Confessional as a solo side-project and released two albums – including 2000’s The Swiss Army Romance — before turning it into a full band effort in 2002. So that’s why he’ll be venturing out alone on this particular road trip.
What’s interesting about the tour is that it really is a celebration of the album. Think that your favorite song from it is too obscure/not popular enough/not played often enough at their concerts? No problem. Carrabba will be playing the entirety of the album on his own. Ooh, ahh.
His first stop will be on November 27th in Florida, whereupon he’ll be working his way up the east coast. After making a brief U-turn south again, the tour will be going as far west as Illinois, with the December 19th Chicago show being the wrap-up.
In addition to the tour, The Swiss Army Romance will also see a re-issue on November 16th. A deluxe vinyl version will include five 7-inch records and a remastered version of the album.
