Update: The headphones are now available on the Third Man online store for the low price of $225.00.
Other than being musicians, Jack White and Dr. Dre really don’t have much in common. For instance, White regularly puts out releases; Dre sells cognac. However, all that changes today as White joins Dre as a member of the prestigious club of musicians who hawk headphones (via Angels We Ain’t).
The headphones are a result of a collaboration between White’s Third Man Records and accessories company Nixon. The black and yellow Nixon x Third Man Records Master Blaster are designed to resemble TMR’s mini-45s and will be available for purchase at TMR in Nashville, TN, in a limited quantity. No word yet on any plans, if any, to expand that market. Between this and that triple-decker record, it seems like listening to records really is cool.
Dre, Jack. Since you’re both undoubtedly going to be at industry conventions schlepping your wares, maybe you can either A) collaborate or B) help one of you learn the importance of getting LPs out promptly. Get back to us.
