Peter Gabriel reissues So with goodies

Peter Gabriel — heard of him? He covered a few indie folks earlier this year, he’s put on a few noteworthy tours, and he’s thrown together a couple of creepy videos in the past. Oh, he also released what we consider to be one of the greatest albums ever. Now he wants to reissue it.

So dazzled the music industry in 1986. It featured hit singles “Sledgehammer” and “In Your Eyes”, collaborations with Kate Bush and Laurie Anderson, and one of the best songs to ever grace Miami Vice (“We Do What We’re Told (Milgram’s 37)”). Needless to say, a reissue not only sounds exciting, but absolutely necessary.

Gabriel tends to think so, as well. In his monthly video update (via slicing up eyeballs), the Brit rocker announced that he’s “been given a little boot up the backside as it’s 25 years next year from So’s original release” and that he wants to “try and do something around that.” Now, while we’d love a special tour, we’ll take what he’s offering, which includes “mixes and demos,” all a part of  “some kind of special package.”

Fun, exciting, refreshing. Let’s get this going, Mr. Gabriel.
