Sample 52 seconds of new Lupe Fiasco song

Now that Lasers finally has a release date, it’s time for Lupe Fiasco to start the arduous task of creating hype for his third album (as if the massive wait and series of protests didn’t accomplish that already). Since there’s no better time than now to make up for the past, check out a clip of an unnamed track from a weekend gig at Wake Forest University’s homecoming (via Billboard).

Though just 52 seconds, the clip should be enough to hold most over for a while (look how long fans lasted without a release date). Plus, if this is the direction Fiasco’s going, then it’s well worth the wait. A playful beat with a catchy chorus and subsequent call, it’s all home to Fiasco’s usual standard of masterful lyrical wordplay. Slightly edging out the track, though, is Fiasco’s dancing, which we can only describe as “inspired.”

If this alone isn’t enough new Fiasco for you, make sure to check out the G.O.O.D. Friday offering from Child Rebel Soldier in “Don’t Stop”, which Fiasco said is actually some two years old. After this long of a wait, we’re pretty sure you’ll take what you can get.
