Album titles say everything about what lies in store for the listener. For T.I., his seventh LP, King Uncaged, was meant to be a glorious celebration of his return to form after a 10-month prison sentence. Now, after being sentenced to 11 months in prison stemming from his September 1st arrest in Los Angeles, the Atlanta MC needed a new title to fit his new circumstances, one he found in No Mercy (via Idolator). Yeah, that one definitely has less emphasis on cages and/or cells.

No word yet on when the album will be released, but T.I. did talk about the renaming and a few other topics in an interview with Hot 107.9 FM’s Rickey Smiley (which you can watch below). As for his home for the next 11 months, according to Billboard, Tip is to report to Arkansas’ Forrest City low-security prison, where he served his previous 10-month sentence on federal weapons charges, on November 1st. The MC did luck out, however, when prosecutors in L.A. said they wouldn’t be filing federal drug charges stemming from the arrest, so at least he’s got that going for him.

As always, stay tuned for more album updates and other news as it’s announced.
