A quick update on some news we first brought you back in July: The Dears’ upcoming album, the newly-titled Degeneration Street, will hits stores February 15th, 2011, but not before they play the album in full on a two-night residency in Brooklyn, NY this November.
The album, produced by Tony Hoffer (Phoenix, Belle and Sebastian), will feature the music the band is primarily known for, from the soulful sounds of some baroque pop to even some straight up primal screaming. The New York shows are the end of an entire residency tour where the band played the album in full in order to prevent further issues with album leaks (why download when you can hear it live?). It also just happens to be for a good cause, aiding War Child International. Pop music and saving the world are two very important causes for us.
For a taste of the album, head here to buy the first single, “Omega Dog”. Or, you can watch the track below live from a May gig in Mexico City. Then, buy your tickets to either show (or both!) here. Once more, Degeneration Street hits stores February 15th via Dangerbird Records.
